BTP - 1992 Nutmeg Dream Team

We have a very special vintage piece in our assortment for you, namely a US Dream Team T-shirt by Nutmeg Mills from 1992! You can find the T-shirt here!

Some time ago we did a small "Behind the Product" article about a Grateful Dead Lithuania T-shirt that we had in our assortment. The collaboration between the rock band and the Lithuanian men's basketball team originated at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.

But of course, when most people think of the 1992 Olympics, they first think of the US Dream Team with its huge star lineup. With players like Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing, Larry Bird, Scottie Pippen, Charles Barkley, Magic Johnson, John Stockton, or Karl Malone, the US men's team was the clear favorite from the start. Their goal was, of course, to win a gold medal, which they ultimately succeeded in doing! The US team did not lose a single game during the tournament – they beat Angola, Croatia, Germany, Brazil, Spain, Puerto Rico, and Lithuania. The USA won each game by at least 30 points, which only underscored their dominance even more.

The Nutmeg Mills Dream Team T-shirt that we currently have in our assortment celebrates this achievement of the US team! It even shows 12 stars – one for each player with their respective jersey number.
