The 1992-93 Phoenix Suns remain one of the most iconic teams in NBA history.

Charles Barkley was named MVP in 1993, the first player in franchise history to do so in his first season in the Valley. He established himself as one of the NBA's most dominant power forwards and was an 11-time NBA All-Star and 11-time All-NBA Team selection.

Dan Lewis Majerle, also known by his nickname "Thunder Dan", was a three-time NBA All-Star ('92, '93, '95) and was inducted into the Phoenix Suns Ring of Honor, the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame, and the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame.

Kevin Johnson played for 12 years in the NBA, was a three-time NBA All-Star, 1989 NBA's Most Improved Player, and a four-time All-NBA Second Team selection. The Suns also retired his number 7 jersey.

Oliver Miller, also known as "The Big O", was drafted by the Suns in 1992 and became the heaviest player in league history. He was a talented center with great passing skills.

The 1992-93 season was the Suns' first in the new America West Arena. This season also saw the introduction of the new "Streaking Sun" logo.

A dominant regular season that led to a team record and the NBA's best mark of 62 wins gave them home-court advantage in the playoffs for the first time ever.

However, the Suns narrowly lost to the Chicago Bulls in the NBA Finals, who defeated them in six games, ending their unprecedented season.

The series captivated the entire country and set record viewership numbers in the second most-watched final series in NBA history, after the Bulls vs. Jazz matchup in 1998.
