The 1992-93 Phoenix Suns remain one of the most iconic teams in NBA history.

Charles Barkley became the first player in franchise history to earn MVP honors in his first season in the valley in 1993. He established himself as one of the NBA’s most dominant power forwards ever being an 11-time NBA All-Star and and 11-time member of the All-NBA Team.

Dan Lewis Majerle, also known by the nickname "Thunder Dan" was an 3-time NBA All-Star ('92, '93, '95) and was inducted into the Phoenix Suns Ring of Honor, into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame and the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame.

Kevin Johnson played 12 years in the NBA being an 3-time NBA All-Star, the 1989 NBA's Most Improved Player and a 4-times All-NBA second team. The Suns also retired his jersey number 7.

Oliver Miller, also known as "The Big O" got drafted by the Suns in 1992 and became the heaviest player in league history. He was a talented center with great passing skills.

The 1992-93 season was the suns first at the new America West Arena. The season also saw the debut of the new “Streaking Sun” logo.

A dominant regular season that led to a team-record and NBA-best 62 wins gave them homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs for the first time ever.

However, the suns just came short of the storybook ending their unprecedented season in the NBA Finals, bested by the three-peating Chicago Bulls in six games.

The nation was riveted by the series, posting record television ratings in what remains the second-most watched finals series in the NBA history behind only the Bulls-Jazz matchup in 1998.

Some other iconic moments of the 90s Suns…
